Jane Cousins

Birth Date: March 13, 1941
Death Date: July 8, 2018

Jane Ann Usry Cousins
Jane Ann grew up in Lakewood in the 1950s – a gracious southern lady, a devoted mother, a loving friend and a child of God.
For 47 years Jane was mother to Chris. She was constantly creating special ways for Chris to learn and even mastered sign language. They shared a love of Andrea Bocelli, The Three Tenors and Willie. It was Christmas all year at the Cousin’s house.
Jane loved her friends and was loved by them. If she came to your house she had a flower, a Clementine or some chocolate. So generous, and she  never forgot a birthday. Her favorite book was The Sweet Potato Queens’ Guide to Life. She’d read a passage of it and we’d all cackle out loud at that outrageous humor.
Jane had the wisdom to empathize and understand people. She could see the best in everyone she met. Her church was a center of her life and she was devoted to helping others. She understood the job that God had given her. All of us have been blessed to have her in our lives.
Jane Ann is survived by her brother Charles Richard Usry, her uncle George Sutter of Houston and her cousins Susan and Jeff Kunz, Sally and Joni Sutter and Sara and Les Shirey.

  3. Never has there been a more selfless human being. Jane Anne’s concerns were ALWAYS for others. Her constant contact with those she loved and cared about will never be forgotten. I am proud to have been her friend, and one that she “checked on”.
