Kevin Q. Altizer
Birth Date: May 5, 1959Death Date: November 27, 2018
Kevin Quentin Altizer went to be with his Lord & Savior on November 27th, 2018 at the age of 59. He was born on May 5th, 1959 in Dallas, Texas. Kevin was raised in Dallas and lived in the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex throughout his life. He graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1977 and was an outstanding team leader on his high school baseball team. Loving the sport of baseball, he spent a tremendous amount of his time with the North Dallas Chamber of Commerce coaching teams and mentoring young players. He taught them the love of the game and the spirit of competition.
As Kevin grew, he joined his beloved father, Kermit Quentin Altizer, working alongside him in the family business, where he was taught the values of hard work and building customer relationships. As Kevin became the man his parents raised him to be, he began his life-long career with Snap-On Tools, becoming a top performer and established himself as an exceptional individual. He earned the admiration and respect of his customers, associates, and company leadership. “He was one of those special humans on this earth that if you did not like him, then you just did not like people” said John Bradford, long-time friend.
He was a truly special individual who loved people and loved being with his family. Diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at the age of 11, his doctors told his parents that he would probably only live to the age of 30. Due to his tremendous strength and passion for life, he lived a full life while doubling the initial prognosis. Kevin fought the good fight, never offered a word of complaint, and respected everyone whose path he crossed. Laughing and joking with friends, living life to the fullest and loving his family is the definition of Kevin. He will desperately be missed by his wife of 23 years, Elizabeth Tava Altizer, his 15-year-old son, Kevin Lee Altizer, his sister Peggy Elaine Kemp, so many close family members and life-long friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Kermit Quentin Altizer and Catherine Burnett Altizer.
