Margaret Mae Fulton

Birth Date: August 14, 1934
Death Date: April 12, 2019

Margaret Mae Fulton, 84, of Plano, Texas passed away in Fort Worth on Friday, April 12, 2019 from complications of pulmonary fibrosis.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Warren W “Bud” Fulton, Jr. in 2011, by her parents Ferman and Eula Mae Phillips, and her younger brother Jess Edgar Phillips.

Margaret is survived by her two sons Mark Fulton and his wife Christine McKenzie, and Phill Fulton and his wife Karen Fulton. She is also survived by four grandchildren Zachary, Elyse, Jack, and Cameron Fulton.

Margaret was born in McAlester, Oklahoma on August 14, 1934. Margaret and Bud moved frequently in the early years of their marriage, but settled in Richardson in 1970, and resided in Plano from 1979 to 2017. She lived the last year and a half of her life with Phill and Karen in Fort Worth.

Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, and teacher. She taught second grade for over 30 years, mostly in the Richardson Independent School District at Spring Creek elementary school. In retirement she and Bud traveled extensively with family and friends. A perfect day for Margaret included an early morning trip to the local nursery to load up her cart with flowers and return home to garden, but her greatest joys came amidst family gatherings. Her family and faith were her guiding principles.

Family will receive friends on Thursday, April 18 from 6-8 pm at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas. Services will be held on Friday, April 19 at 11 am, in Memorial Chapel at Restland.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations in Margaret’s name be made to the charity of your choice.

  1. Margaret was my beloved friend for the past 20 years. We were neighbors, and my late husband and I were blessed to be friends with Margaret and Bud. Margaret was very thoughtful and generous and brought us many meals over the years–she was a great cook! I talked often to Margaret as we shared our thoughts, feelings, and news about our families. I missed seeing her after she moved to Ft. Worth, but we still kept in touch quite often with phone calls. She was a wonderful person and I shall miss her greatly.

  2. Please accept my condolences on the passing of your loved one. May our loving Heavenly Father Jehovah the God of tender mercies comfort you and your family during this difficult time. 2 Corinthians 1:3,4

  3. Margaret was precious to me! Her friendship was a reflection of God’s goodness and grace in my life. After we discovered we were sisters in Christ, we discovered we were also sorority sisters! It was a delightful surprise. Margaret was a class act; she had impeccable manners, and she was an excellent steward of the gifts God gave her. I treasure every memory I have of her, including the year we went to ladies Bible class together. I love her dearly, and the thought of her in heaven right now, out of pain & breathing freely, brings joy to my heart. My love and prayers are with her whole family.
