Betty worked for the US Army until the birth of her oldest daughter, Kimberly Anne, in 1971. Their second child and youngest daughter, Shelly Denise, was born in 1976. Betty was also the devoted caregiver to her mother, Neoma, until her passing in 1991. Betty’s priorities were being a Christian first, with devoted wife, mother, and Granny following shortly behind. Betty’s talents and hobbies included tole painting, sewing, decorating, shopping, and antique collecting. Betty spent her time with her husband and daughters travelling on Tommy’s sales award trips and family vacations. Betty was also a dedicated teacher and mentor for her daughters, passing on many of her skills to them. The family made their home in Dallas until 2012 when Tommy retired and they moved to the family farm in Daingerfield. Betty enjoyed meeting new friends while helping Tommy work the farm until 2020 when the farming business began to close. Betty’s health began to rapidly decline in 2020 after a hospitalization and rehab stay in Longview, TX. She lovingly fought the good fight staying completely devoted to her family through her many illnesses and hospital stays. Betty returned home to Daingerfield after her final hospital stay in February, 2022, where she was surrounded by her family until she drew her final breath and fell into her Savior’s arms on March 3, 2022. Her parents, extended family, and many friends are now reunited with Betty in Heaven. Betty leaves her loved ones with unforgettable memories and loving stories. She will be sincerely missed by her loving husband Tommy, devoted daughters, Kimberly Baumgartner and her husband Shad, and Shelly Vanderburg and her husband Wesley, and her most precious grandchildren Jessica, Jared, and Jodie Vanderburg.
