Frederick Volker Luhnow Jr.'s Obituary
Frederick “Fred” Volker Luhnow, Jr. passed away suddenly, after a brief illness, on Friday, September
23, 2022 – three days shy of his 93rd birthday. He was born on September 26, 1929, in Dallas, Texas to Frederick Volker Luhnow, Sr. and Mary Mildred Conn.
Fred graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1946. He attended Southern Methodist University, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Electrical Engineering in 1950. Fred was a member of Phi Delta Theta fraternity. After college, he worked in the oil and gas industry then spent most of his career in real estate development. Fred was an excellent skier and loved to play golf. He was a second-generation member of the Dallas Country Club. Fred was also a long-time member of the Salesmanship Club, the Dallas Ski Club, and the Turtle Creek
Breakfast Club. He was a charter member of season ticket holders for the Dallas Cowboys. Fred was a member the Church of the Incarnation.
Fred is survived by his loving spouse, Harriet W. Luhnow, and his two children, Elizabeth Anne Luhnow Pettit and William Christian Luhnow as well as sever- al grandchildren. Fred was a loyal husband, be- loved father, and trusted friend and will be dearly missed.
Please join us in a memorial service to celebrate the life of our dear Fred in the Memorial Chapel at the
Church of the Incarnation located at 3966 McKinney Avenue in Dallas. The service will be held on
November 17 at 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to the American Cancer Society or the Salesmanship Club.
