Gary Dean Hash September 29, 1948 - March 25, 2022 Services for Gary Dean Hash, 73, of Gun Barrel City, will be held 11 am Thursday, April 7, 2022, at First Baptist Church Gun Barrel City with Bro. Denny Burris and Bro. Byron Jones officiating. Interment will be in Eubank Cedar Creek Memorial Park, under the direction of Restland Funeral Home. Mr. Hash passed away March 25, 2022 at his home. He was born September 29, 1948 in McPherson, Kansas to Bill Gene and Helen Lorene Stilwell Hash. Gary began his 33 year career with the Dallas Fire Department on February 28, 1977 at Station 3. He retired as a Captain on September 29, 2010 at Station 14. His sense of duty and service led him to serve as the head of the board of the Henderson county ESD. Gary was a member of the First Baptist Church Gun Barrel City for over 20 years. He enjoyed serving his church and singing in the church choir. Mr. Hash loved to watch things grow, namely his garden and grandchildren. Gary also enjoyed fishing, hunting, and playing sports. Gary is survived by his wife, Janet Hash of Gun Barrel City; son,Captain (US Navy) Keith and Misha Hash of Leonardtown, Maryland; daughter Emily and Rev. Dr. Joel Wood of El Cajon, California; son, Sergeant (Dallas Police Department) Philip and Kristen Lawler of Aledo, Texas; daughter Amanda and Pastor James Hall of Mabank; twelve grandchildren: Alan Hash, Timothy Hash, Emma and Zane Robinson, Joel Wood, II, Esther Wood, Jonathan Wood, and Effie Wood, Rosalie Lawler, Hazel Lawler, Morgan Hall, Isabella Hall, and Luke Hall; parents, Bill and Helen or Longview ; brother, Billy Gene and Sherrie Hash of Seven Points; ; sister, Joanna and Rae Burrows of Longview; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church. Memorials may be given to First Baptist Church Gun Barrel City.
