It is with great sadness the family of Coach H. Arnold King announces his passing on February 6, 2022, in Joplin, MO. He touched many lives during his missionary work and during his career as a teacher and coach. He is survived by his wife, Carolyne; his siblings, Fae, Byron, Melba, and Laura; and his children, John, Bruce, Libby, Curtis, Ronald, and Thomas. He also had 13 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren (plus 1 on the way). Due to the weather, the services will be held at a private location. Coach King was born April 26, 1933, and grew up in Shreveport, Louisiana. He attended Centenary College in Shreveport and Dallas Bible College, where he met the love of his life, Carolyne. In June of this year they would have been married 65 years. During this time, he worked at Dallas Love Field for American Airlines and at a Dallas Post Office. He began teaching and coaching at Boys Ranch in the Texas panhandle and continued for many years in the Groom, Grand Saline, and Wills Point, Texas school districts. He was part of a mission trip to Egypt and taught Sunday School at the Grand Saline Bible Church for many years. The family requests charitable donations in Arnold King's name in lieu of flowers. Psalms 22:1 "A good name is rather to be chosen than great riches, and loving favour rather than silver and gold."
