Larry "Senior" Roberts
May 5, 1940 - April 13, 2022
Larry Leon Roberts, Sr. May 5, 1940 – April 13, 2022 Larry Leon Roberts, Sr. (a/k/a “Senior”) passed away peacefully on April 13, 2022, at the age of 81 after courageously battling Parkinson’s disease for 25+ years. Senior is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Bonnie, his three sons, Larry Jr., Chris, and Josh and his one daughter, Cheree. His grandchildren included: Austin, Ali, Aerin, Alec, Ava, Emma, Brayden, and Brynn. His two sisters are Iris Johnson and Martha Yarborough. He has numerous nieces, nephews, and a large extended family, all of whom respected and loved him dearly. He was preceded in death by his parents Iris Warren and Myrtle Lee Roberts. To say that Senior lived an extraordinary life would be a huge understatement. In fact, you could easily say that he lived several different lives over his 81 total years. Professionally, Senior was a well-respected and successful serial entrepreneur having started and ran several diverse businesses within the retail furniture, construction, restaurant, and Professional Employer Organization (PEO) industries. Senior was a kind, but confident leader that was supportive and generous with all those that worked alongside him to build successful enterprises while serving the needs of others. Most importantly, he took tremendous pride later in his career to be able to work alongside all three sons. Throughout his life Senior was an impeccable dresser that enjoyed tailored suits, fashionable ties and his extensive collection of cufflinks. He was an avid golfer that enjoyed playing with his close group of friends at golf and country clubs around D/FW, Las Vegas, Hawaii, Florida and all points in between. He was also a passionate and successful gin rummy player with a near photographic memory. Senior not only enjoyed playing sports, he was also fanatical about watching them as well. In particular, he loved watching PGA golf tournaments and his beloved Dallas Cowboys, who he passionately supported through the good times and bad since the team’s inception in 1960. While reflecting on Senior’s life and many accomplishments, there are many words that describe him and his character—a few of those words include: passionate, loving, intelligent, compassionate, stylish, visionary, loyal, supportive, committed, persistent, sacrificing, innovator, gambler, adventurous, forgiving, joyful, and winner. Although Senior enjoyed his career and hobbies, his family was the most important part of his life. He truly adored his family while providing them with a constant supply of love, support, understanding and encouragement. He was also a loyal friend that never had a bad word to share about anyone. His iconic smile, engaging eyes, huge heart, and guiding hand will be missed by all that knew and looked up to him. Larry Leon Roberts Sr’s funeral services will be held at the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home (13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243/ ph: 469.925.1436) on Saturday April 23, 2022, at 10:00 AM.
