Linda Jean Burkley Dooly

October 21, 1937 - March 20, 2022

Linda Jean Barkley Dooly moved into her heavenly home on Sunday, March 20, 2022. Linda’s life began 10-21-1937, when she was born in Austin, Texas to Wells and Dessie Wood Sutherland. She graduated from Sabinal High School and worked as a customer service representative and claims examiner for Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance. She married Ed Burkley in 1961 and became a stepmother to his children. After Ed’s death, Linda met and married George Dooly in 1996 and gained another four stepchildren. Though she never gave birth to children, Linda claimed her stepchildren and grandchildren as her own. Linda was a member of Log Cabin Church. She enthusiastically participated in the activities of Red Hat Society. She read voraciously and found great joy in watching sporting events. She was an avid Dallas Cowboys fan and really enjoyed college basketball – especially the Baylor Women’s team. She proudly displayed bells, which she collected from all over the world. She is survived by 4 stepdaughters, 3 stepsons, numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren, as well as several life-long friends. She was proceeded in death by her husbands, parents, and one stepson. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that donations be made to Street Reach Ministries Memphis, TN or the charity of your choice. A graveside service will be held on Monday, March 28, 2022 at 1:00pm at Restland Memorial Park Home, located at 13005 Greenville Ave. at the intersection of Restland Road, Dallas, Texas 75243. in Section Vet II.
