Margie Guajardo

October 9, 1943 - January 23, 2022

Margie Guajardo was born on October 9, 1943 in Chicago, Illinois. She was the oldest of 7 brothers and sisters. She had 5 daughters, 8 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. She had the most optimistic and joyful personality. She looked for the best in people and focused on being kind to everyone. She loved her plants and flowers, traveling, baking, bird watching and family get togethers. Our mother was diagnosed with a glioblastoma brain tumor in May of 2021 and faced months of chemotherapy and radiation and never complained. She was confident that she would beat cancer. She lost her battle on January 23, 2022. In her final days at home, she was surrounded by her family. We cried, laughed, held her hand and kissed her and said goodbye as her heart took its final beats. She's gone, but will never be forgotten. She loved her family so much and was the best daughter, friend, sister, mom and grandmother. Funeral and burial services will be held on Saturday, February 19, 2022 at 10:00 am at Restland Cemetery in the Wildwood Chapel.
