Shirley Ann Wier
December 9, 1951 - January 21, 2022
Shirley Ann Wier, age 70, passed away on January 21, 2022 in McKinney, Texas. She was born to Lonnie and Mildred "Mickey" Scarborough on December 9, 1951 in Dallas, Texas. Shirley leaves her loved ones with unforgettable memories and loving stories. She will be sincerely missed by her loving family, devoted friends, and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved her. Shirley enjoyed ceramic crafts, flower arrangements, decorating almost anything with angelic pictures and statues throughout our home. Shirley loved to plan family vacations – going to the beach or mountains in the summer time and almost always invited a niece to join our two daughters on the trip. She enjoyed hosting parties or gatherings at our home as she was so proud to share and entertain family and friends whenever the occasion occurred. She loved to dress up and have an evening out to dinner accompanied by a movie, one of her choice of course. From her earliest of years, she enjoyed shopping for herself or anyone or special event – she was the best gift giver and even the package and wrapping had to be perfect according to Shirley. She enjoyed collecting anything pink or gold, glass or crystal and this is truly reflected in our home and as it was with all things she loved. Her number one priority was to be a good mother and wife. She loved her family deeply and took pride in taking care of our home and being there for us throughout her life. She truly cherished taking trips to the family farmhouse in East Texas where she had so many wonderful memories as a child and always enjoyed sharing them with everyone. She lived in the city, but was most certainly a country girl at heart. Shirley grew up with the nickname of “Hawkeye” known for being able to spot candy or treats no matter where they were hidden away in the kitchen…she also had an eye for beautiful things and for spotting and finding the most beautiful friends as is a testament to those that got to know and love her as she loved them. She will be missed and remembered for the life we enjoyed together as a family and loved by us that shared time with a most caring giving loving mom, Nana and wife. Shirley is preceded in death by her parents; Lonnie and Mickey Scarborough. She will be lovingly remembered by her husband, Michael Wier; daughters, Shauna Reed and Lindsey Wier; brother, Rick Scarborough and his wife Shelby; sister, Kathy Dotson; grandchildren, Dalton Payne, Wade Payne, Peyton Reed, and Connor Reed. Also to cherish her memory will be many nieces and nephews. The visitation will be held on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 9:00am to 10:00am. The funeral service will start at 10:00am. Both events will take place in the Memorial Chapel - 13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, Texas 75243. Funeral arrangements for Shirley Ann Wier have been faithfully entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park.
