November 22, 1946 - January 24, 2022
Ms. Susan Annette Sirles (née Jones), age 75, passed away on January 24, 2022 in Grayson, Georgia. Susan was born on November 22, 1946 to Mr. Floyd Jones and Mrs. Frankie Jones in Dallas, Texas. Susan had one daughter, Ja’Net Sirles. A lifelong creative talent, Susan tried her hand at every craft under the sun, and conquered each and every challenge. Memories live on in her ceramics, cross-stitch, stained glass, knitting, sewing, digital picture creation, and scrapbooks (I’m sure I’m missing something in that list). Ja’Net has fond memories of wearing dresses she made, from smocked dresses as a little girl, to a formal gown for a high school pageant. Tops on the list is a 1912 recreation of Rose’s blue gown from Titanic. Most recently, Susan was learning to make tatting lace, a forgotten art to be sure. Ja’Net’s friends will all be getting Susan’s practice bookmarks as gifts! Susan played the flute in high school, was in the drama club, and had an abiding love for classical music. She kept a list of books she read every year, sometimes over 100! At the time of her death, Susan was reading no fewer than three books at one time! Never a sports fan, her most recent display of “It’s never too late to learn something new” came in her newfound love for watching golf. Susan traveled solo to Great Britain in August 1997, and had the unique opportunity to sign a condolence book for Princess Diana’s passing. She also traveled to Australia and the Badlands. One of Ja’Net’s favorite memories is a trip to Mackinac Island, Michigan for the 20th anniversary of the movie Somewhere In Time. (If you haven’t seen it, you need to!) Susan obtained her Bachelor’s degree from the University of Texas at Dallas. She was a founding member of Wolverton & Associates as the executive assistant to the president. Seeing the company grow from four employees to over 100, she retired in 2009 after 17 years of dedicated service. A born-again Christian, Susan is now in the arms of our Lord Jesus. She is no longer in pain, has a healthy body, and a house full of cats. Susan loved her daughter and grandson Aaron with all her heart, and they her. She is deeply missed. Susan is survived by her daughter Ja’Net, beloved grandson Aaron (Force), brother Bill and wife Cathy, niece Rebecca and nephew Brian. Susan was preceded in death and welcomed into Heaven by her mother Frankie, father Floyd, her loving grandparents, and cats Tinker and Jeremiah. Susan will be laid to rest next to her father at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, Texas on April 22, 2022 at 12:00 noon CST. All are welcome to attend.
