Kerri Sue O'Neill's Obituary
Kerri Sue Russell O’Neill, 71, of Dallas, Texas, went to be with the Lord on October 29, 2025, surrounded by her family. Born on January 22, 1954, in Dallas, Texas, Kerri was a devoted wife, mother, sister, and friend who lived her life grounded in faith and guided by integrity. She was known for her determination and reliability that made her someone others could always count on, as well as her adventurous spirit, quick wit, and wry sense of humor.
A proud graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, Kerri went on to earn her master’s degree in Speech Pathology from the Callier Center at the University of Texas at Dallas. Her career as a speech pathologist in the school district and in private practice spanned 37 years and it was with great reluctance that she retired in 2016.
Kerri was very athletic and taught fitness and swim classes at local gyms into her late forties. She always enjoyed the great outdoors spent her free time in her yard gardening, on morning and evening walks with her dogs, or on bike riding excursions, especially those around White Rock Lake.
After retirement, Kerri, her husband Robb, and their mini dachshund Pan often set out to see the country in their RV, creating countless memories and meeting many people as they journeyed through different states and sites along the way.
Most importantly, Kerri’s faith in Jesus Christ was number one - the cornerstone of her life. Kerri was a lay speaker in the Methodist Church and a member of that faith for most of her life, having been raised at First United Methodist of Dallas, where she formed friendships that lasted her whole life long. She then became a member of Fellowship Bible Church of Dallas in 2006 and was active in church service and Sunday school classes. Those who knew her best will remember her steadfastness of spirit and desire to share the love of Jesus through words and action, embodying kindness, humility, and strength.
She is survived by her loving husband, Robb Tennant; her sister, Roxanne Phelps; her daughter, Jaimie; her stepson, Robb; and her stepdaughter, Krysta. She also leaves behind a grandchild, Oliver, who brought light and laughter to her days.
Kerri’s faith in the Lord and love for her family, friends, and animals will forever be remembered and cherished. Her legacy of faith and compassion will continue to inspire all who were fortunate to know her.
