Laura V. Parmer's Obituary
Laura V. Parmer, 88, left this earthly home on October 7th, 2024. Laura was born July 19th, 1936, in Dallas, TX, to Charles “Charley” Voirin and Louise Madden Voirin. Laura was raised in Dallas and graduated from North Dallas High School. She went on to Nursing School and received her Associate Degree in Nursing from Methodist Hospital.
Laura married Will Frank Parmer on February 14th, 1959. They met in a Sunday School Class at Oak Lawn United Methodist Church in Dallas. Before having children, Laura worked as a RN for Dr. Stell. Will and Laura had two children, MaraLee Parmer Green and Timothy Charles Parmer. Laura and Will owned their own business, Fun Services. They helped PTA’s and schools raise money by doing school carnivals. After that, Laura worked for Weight Watchers Dallas for many years. After working at Weight Watchers, she went on to work for Dr. Rodriguez, where she was a receptionist.
Laura and Will loved family vacations and spent many summers at “Villa Tauber” (beach house) in Johnson’s Bayou, Louisiana, with good family friends. She also loved playing the slots at the casino’s and traveling with good friends after she retired.
Laura’s pride and joy were her two granddaughters, Rebecca and Caroline. “Annie” loved taking them to lunch and shopping. She loved celebrating holidays with her family.
She is proceeded in death by her father, Charles Voirin, her mother, Louise Voirin and sister, Martha Cober. Laura is survived by her husband, Will Parmer, children, MaraLee Parmer Green (Terry) and Timothy Charles Parmer, granddaughters, Rebecca Green Elizondo and Caroline Alyssa Green.
