Marsha Sue Tussy
Marsha Sue Tussy was born June 27, 1950, in McKinney, Texas to Marshall Baker Tussy and Lillie Cora Hall Tussy. She passed away on February 23, 2026, at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital Plano where she was surrounded by her loving friends.
Marsha graduated from Garland High School in1968. She attended El Centro College, Dallas, Texas in their first Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) class; some of her training to be an MLT was done at the Woodlawn Hospital (Old Parkland Hospital). Upon receipt of her Associate Degree, she was certified as an MLT by ASCP. Her education laid the foundation for a lifelong commitment to serving others with compassion and dedication.
Her first job was at a clinic in Dallas, Texas. In 1976, she began working at Parkland Memorial, in the Special Chemistry section of Pathology. For the next forty years worked in several sections of the Chemistry Lab before retiring October 10, 2016.
In her earlier years, she played slow pitch softball on several teams. Marsha enjoyed meeting and getting to know people. Her special friends were Peggy Ruff and Karen Jessen. Her favorite pets were cats given to her by the Parkland family. She was a proud Texan who attended the Texas State Fair every year to get a corny dog. Her favorite things to watch on TV were crime mysteries and football. The Dallas Cowboys were her team. Marsha could recommend the best places to eat out in Dallas.
In July 2018, she moved from her private residence to assisted living where she enjoyed reading, crossword puzzles, playing Bingo, visiting with the staff, residents and their families.
She is survived by her cousins: Susan Duke, Mike (Sandie) Prince, Greg (Pam) Prince and Patricia (Victor Diaz. She was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Marshall Rusty" Baker Tussy, Jr.
Funeral Services will be held on Sunday, March 8,2026 at 10:30 a.m. in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Visitation will be from 9:30 a.m. until the service begins. Burial service will be held at 11:30 a.m. Everyone is invited to a Reception/Tex Mex buffet from noon to 2:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Parkland Foundation, Dallas, Texas.
