Richard Manyin's Obituary
Richard Manyin, 82, passed away on Nov. 11, 2020, from Covid-19. He was born in New York, New York, to the late Louis Manyin and Jennie Schmertz Manyin on September 10, 1938.
After growing up in the Bronx, Richard served in the United States Army stationed in Germany. Upon his return he graduated from Pace University in New York in 1965 with a degree in accounting. He was an examiner for the New York Stock Exchange for 15 years. After moving to Houston, he was vice president of a brokerage firm before joining the National Association of Securities Dealers in Dallas in 1986 as a senior examiner. After his retirement in 2003, Richard spent many hours volunteering for the American Red Cross Dallas Chapter.
Richard was devoted to his family and loved to travel. He visited 49 countries and all but a couple of the United States. He loved experiencing different cultures and traditions, but he also loved his own home. He was known for his lighthearted, gentle kindness, his sense of humor and he took great pride in the endeavors of his children and grandchildren. He was loved dearly and will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife of almost 40 years, Donna Joyce Manyin, of Dallas; his daughter, Felicia Manyin Onufrey and husband Scott of Wantagh, NY and his son, Jeffrey Manyin and wife Halley of Oceanside, NY. He is also survived by four grandchildren: Andrew Onufrey, Jaclyn Onufrey, Jake Manyin and Mackenzie Manyin. His twin brother, Ronald Manyin and wife Deb of Bluffton, SC, are also survivors along with several nieces and nephews and friends. He was preceded in death by his brother, George Manyin.
Due to the current situation, a memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
