Charles passed peacefully on Wednesday, July 15, 2020 at the age of 79. Charles was born on September 28, 1940 to John William and Bessie Ree White in Dallas Texas. He is survived in death by his son Scott William Smith and his da Read Obituary
I had the pleasure of working with Mr. Smith while serving on the Dallas Appraisal Review Board. He was a true professional and a real gentleman. His wry sense of humor was always a source of humor. May he Rest In Peace.
Charles was a wonderful neighbor and very welcoming to our young, growing family from the moment we moved in. We appreciated his interest and support. He will be missed.

Charles and I first met as internal auditor’s and CPA’s of our 2 companies. I started a benchmark group and Charles was a integral member of the group. Members benefited in achieving best practices within their audit departments.
Many years later Charles and I served a number of years on the Dallas Appraisal Review Board. I was happy and proud when he was appointed President for one year. We bonded over Business Personal Property panels. His sharp mind had him asking penetrating questions of protestors. He loved Central Market sandwiches and a certain brand of potato chips during our lunch breaks. He always preferred eating out at home. I never heard him say he cooked.
He loved his deceased wife’s kitty. Over time Kitty fully embraced Charles. He was relieved that she preceded him in death, although he missed her. He maintained a Positive attitude during his illness.
He was a good friend. I will miss him. I treasure the times we shared.
