I Debra Brockers am also from Windsor, NC. I wasn't born when Jethro's fame began, but ones in the community would tell me about him. Not only will the world miss him but mainly his hometown of Windsor.
Lit a candle in memory of Jethro Pugh Jr.
Jethro, We will always remember you as our gentle giant at DFW Airport. You were kind, considerate, and our forever hero on and off the field. May you rest in peace and your spirit live forever. Our thoughts and prayers go out to your family. Angel Biasatti
I live in Jamesville NC which is 27 miles from Windsor NC. I know one of Jethro Pugh's college classmates who lives in Pugh's hometown. The classmate sat near him at Elizabeth City State College. Many years ago when I was working at Montgomery Wards store, I waited on Jethro Pugh's mom. The store was located in Williamston NC which is between Jamesville and Windsor. I have watched Jethro Pugh play in many games shown on TV. Dallas Cowboys has forever been the team I pull for. They will always be my team. My deepest sympathy to children and all family members as well as friends and former players he played with. May he rest in peace.
I had the pleasure of meeting my cousin Jethro when I moved to Arlington, Texas in 2012, it was so wonderingful hanging out with him and listening to his stories, what was really fasinating about him was his humility, love, and total devotion to his family, both past & present, I remember him saying, how he never forgot his up bringing & where he came from, I'm so thankful that we were able to connect, in doing so I learned some missing links of our family history, Jethro was a man of God, He was loved and he loved people, anyone that knew him will miss him, my love & condolences to his son, daughter, grandchildren

I am saddened to hear of your loss. I was one of the ECSU viking cheer leaders the night that the scouts came to watch Jethro and his future was planned. I have been cheering for the cowboys ever since North Carolina doing those days had no team, but we had JETHRO. Rest in peace Viking/Cowboy.Hattie Forbes Sampson
Very briefly met Mr. Pugh at a Comdex event in Las Vegas many years ago. This brief chat made me a Jethro Pugh fan for life. RIP. Carrie Ferrer, Springtown, Texas
Grew up together and attended Indian Woods Baptist Church in Windsor, North Carolina with Jethro. Even many years before Jethro joined The Dallas Cowboys, this was the only professional football team that appeared on TV in North Carolina and I was so excited to be able to watch them. When Jethro joined, it was Cowboys Fan for Life. What excitement when the Town of Windsor honored him with a Parade uptown. Such wonderful Memories. God's Blessings to the Family.
