Alan Anderson's Obituary
In Loving Memory of Alan Anderson
Born June 25, 1948 in Oklahoma City, OK to Alva Anderson and Anna Belle Ruth Myres Anderson, Alan lived a life defined by service, dedication, and deep love for his family. A proud Army Vietnam veteran, he served his country with honor and continued to carry that sense of duty throughout his life.
After high school he attended Lowell Tech in Lowell, MA studying engineering before being drafted to go to Viet Nam. He built a long and successful career as Fleet Manager for Bright Truck Leasing in Irving, Texas, where his strong work ethic and leadership earned the respect of everyone around him.
A devoted husband to his beloved wife Jan, their bond was one of true companionship — whether they were cheering on the Dallas Cowboys or Southlake Carroll Dragons or Spending quiet time at home surrounded by their cherished pets. They were married 39 years.
He had a natural talent for woodworking and was a true marksman — able to shoot just about anything with skill and precision. He was also King of the Grill and loved to smoke ribs (one of his specialties) everyone loved.
Many of the fondest memories shared by family and friends were made at the lake or during joyful holiday gatherings — times filled with storytelling, food, and togetherness that captured his generous spirit and love for family.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Alva and Anna Belle Anderson and his wife, Jan Thompson Anderson.
Alan is survived by his loving siblings: Alva Anderson, Jr. of Rowlett TX; Roger Anderson and his wife Martha of Waxahachie TX; Gary Anderson of Clarksville, TX, Amelia Anderson Chappel and husband Danny Chappel of Wylie, TX. He also leaves behind two stepsons and many nieces and nephews who adored him and will remember him fondly.
His legacy is one of strength, love, and a steady presence — a brother, a veteran, a husband, advisor, and a friend who will be forever missed.
