Alayne Rebecca Wilemon's Obituary
Alayne Rebecca Wilemon, 81, of Dallas Texas went to glory, Saturday, July 9, 2022 after a long and brutal battle with Alzheimer's Disease. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, J. Kenneth Wilemon who was by her side till the end; her two children, daughter Courtney Wilemon and son Todd Wilemon, her two sons-in law Brian O'Rourke and Guillermo Palomino and her two granddaughters, Abby O'Rourke and Molly O'Rourke.
She graduated from Texas Tech University and returned to the metroplex to work in advertising before starting out on her most successful career of being a mother. When her children entered high school, she set out in a new career as an interior designer helping people live in beautiful surroundings.
Her husband would tell you that her three favorite activities were doing the New York Times crossword puzzle in ink, reading and wine tasting through the California wine country. She also loved to travel, snow ski, play bridge (with healthy doses of wine and conversation) and canoe down the Brazos with family. She took up inline skating for exercise and only had one major crash which didn't stop her from lacing back up the skates. She had a soft spot for babies and dogs.
She was a Deacon at Frist Presbyterian Church of Arlington where she strived to make both members and visitors always feel welcomed.
A funeral service is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Monday, July 18, 2022 at Restland Abbey Chapel in Dallas,
In lieu of flowers, please donate to the Alzheimer's Association.
