Alfred E. (Al) Goode
On October 2, Al Goode left this world to spend eternity with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Al was born in 1935 in Kingsville TX to the late Alfred and Mabel Goode who soon moved the family to New Braunfels TX where Al remembered a wonderful childhood growing up on two beautiful rivers. The family later relocated to Temple TX where he graduated from high school and then went on to earn a BBA from North Texas State University. Following graduation, Al began a 47 year career in finance and banking in both the Houston and Dallas areas; he served as Executive Vice President at Legacy Bank in Plano during his last ten years before retiring. He was then invited to join the board of directors at Grand Bank in Dallas where he served for 11 years. Al led an active Christian life serving as a Deacon at Garden Oaks Baptist Church in Houston and at the Wilshire Baptist Church in Dallas. In recent years he and Anita enjoyed an active church life at Stonebriar Community Church in Frisco and were blessed with many wonderful friends in their Sunday school class, A Grace Gathering. Al is survived by his beloved wife of 20 years, Anita, his son Lee Goode of Chicago IL, his daughter and son-in-law Maury and Tracy Littleton of Nacogdoches TX and two wonderful and beloved grandsons, Ryan Ihrig of Houston TX and Trenton Littleton of Nacogdoches. A memorial service will be held at 10am on Saturday, Oct 10th at Restland Memorial Chapel followed immediately by a graveside ceremony in Restland Cemetery. (Masks and social distancing are required in the chapel). In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Stonebriar Community Church, 4801 Legendary Drive, Frisco TX 75034 or to Dallas Theological Seminary, 3909 Swiss Avenue, Dallas TX 75204.
