Allene Lewis' Obituary
Entered this world on May 6, 1919, in Magnolia, Arkansas, and departed on September 3, 2009 in Dallas, Texas, after 90 years of life. She was the warehouse manager and faithful “Gal Friday” to the owners and employees of Irby-Mayes Man’s Shop, her extended family, for 40 years. She loved to recite Robert Frost, to study maps for her armchair travels; was an expert at crocheting; and a big fan of Arnold Palmer. And she was one exceptional mother to her only child. Survived by daughter, Carolann Greer, Edwin R. Greer, Jr., Mitchell Greer and Rachel Smith, family, friends, and the loving staff of Pearl Nordan Care Center. In lieu of flowers, memorials in her name may be sent to Pearl Nordan Care Center, 1260 Abrams Road, Dallas, Texas 75214.
