Almeda Mamie Roop's Obituary
Almeda Mamie Kelldorf Roop (Nick) was born in Austin, Texas on June 14, 1933 to William and Almeda Kelldorf. She passed from this life on Sunday, October 19, 2025. Nick graduated from high school in Taylor, Texas, and then went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas State College for Women (now TWU). She would move to Midland, Texas following graduation, to teach second grade. In Midland, she met and married James R. Roop in 1956. They were married for 55 years and had three children, Brian, Judy, and Susan. Nick was preceded in death by her son Brian, her husband Jim, her sister Mary Ann Schaper, and her twin brother, William (Bill) Kelldorf. She is survived by daughters Judy Hunt of Rowlett, Texas, and Susan Ruder and
husband Steve of Allen, Texas. In addition, she is survived by 5 grandchildren,
Glen, Josh, Katy, Matthew, and Kevin, and 3 great grandchildren.
Nick will be remembered for her love of children and nurturing spirit. She was a
caregiver, and an incredible example of faith, hope, and perseverance. Her
character was without question. But most of all she will be remembered as the best
mom ever.

Rehabilitation Center, 802 Ventura Ave. Midland, TX 79705.
Funeral services will be held at King of Glory Lutheran Church, 6411 LBJ Frwy,
Dallas, TX on Saturday, October 25, 2025. Visitation at 10:00, service at 11:00.
Lunch will follow the service. Burial will take place on Monday, October 27, 2025, at
11:00 in Midland, TX at Resthaven Cemetery.
