Mr Andrew Fritz Krauss' Obituary
KRAUSS, ANDREW FRITZ, age 85, passed away at home in Richardson, Texas on 3-1-08 from a heart attack. He was born to Rudolph Antony and Emma Lou (Johnson) Krauss on August 23, 1922 in Frisco, Collin County, Texas. In 1925, he, his mother and his brothers moved to Prosper, Texas where he grew up and graduated from high school. He volunteered in the Army Air Corps in 1942 and was discharged 2-9-1946. Andy married M. Earlene (Cubby) Norris of Celina, Texas in May 1944. After being discharged from the service, Andy had a 38 year career with Magnolia (Mobil) Oil retiring in 1984. He spent many of those years in the building which held the ‘Flying Red Horse’. During that time, he attended SMU nights and on Saturdays and needed only a few more hours to earn a Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting. At SMU he was a member of Alpha Sigma Lambda. Andy also retired from the Selective Service Systems, North Dallas Board #31, in 2004 with 20 years service. He was a member of Park Cities Baptist Church for over 50 years. Andy was a member of the Dewey Pressley Bible Study Class. He was preceded in death by his parents and his brother H.R. (Buckle) Krauss. He is survived by his wife Mildred Earlene Krauss, brother Leonard Krauss, one niece, three nephews, and many cousins. Andy has one aunt and no uncles living. Andy and Cubby had no children. Andy lies in state at Restland Funeral Home on Greenville Ave, Dallas with visitation Wed., March 5, 2008 from 6 to 8PM. Funeral Service will be Thursday, March 6, 2008 at 1:00PM in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home with Dr. Jack Martin of Park Cities Baptist Church officiating. Burial will follow in Restland Memorial Park. Memorials may be made to the Scottish Rite Hospital For Children, 2222 Welborn, Dallas, Texas, 75219 or in Andy’s name to Park Cities Baptist Church, PO Box 12068, Dallas, Texas 75225. He had been a Mason for over 60 years and a member of Richardson Lodge 1214 for the last 40 or more years. His Lodge brothers and members of Dewey Pressley Bible Study Class at Park Cities Baptist Church will be Honorary Pallbearers. A Masonic burial will be held at the gravesite.
