Mrs Ann Tatom's Obituary
TATOM, ANN FRANKLIN, born to James Buchanan Franklin and Annie Ellen Frier in Big Spring, Texas, on April 4, 1928 and died May 10th, 2007 in Dallas, Texas. Ann was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Family always came first in her life. Since her mother died when Ann was five years old, she spent her early years traveling between and living with her married brothers and sisters. Therefore, she had a very large extended family. Ann married Bud Tatom in Monahans, Texas, in 1948. She spent the next 20 years there, making a loving home, before moving to Dallas. She helped care for her grandchildren who will dearly miss their “Gigi.” She worked in real estate and retail. She was artistic and an avid reader, and she enjoyed decorating custom wedding cakes. She is preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, F. E. (Bud) Tatom, her parents, and 10 siblings. She is survived by her sister Rachel Jackson of Merced, California; daughters Terry Nan Lyons and husband Bobby, Mary Ann Heimberg and husband Steve, and Elaine Cox and husband Doug; grandsons Raymond Tatom and wife Melissa and John Robert Lyons and wife Stacy; granddaughter Lilyana Heimberg; grandson Alan Cox; great-granddaughter Abigail Lyons; and great-grandson John Robert Lyons III; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Graveside services will be held Monday, May 14, 2007 at 10:00 a.m. at Restland Memorial Park.
