Anna Lee Moss' Obituary
Anna Lee Moss 87, affectionately known as “Honey” to her grandchildren, passed quietly from this life Saturday May 2, 2015 in her Dallas residence surrounded by family and caregivers. Anna Lee was born April 13, 1928 to Floyd D. and Ruth Hughey Reese in Dallas, Tx. She accepted Christ at an early age being baptized as a pre-teen in the First Christian Church. She had a very outgoing personally that was attributed to all the moves that her family made while she was growing up. Anna Lee attended over 25 different schools as her father, Floyd Reese was a electrical engineer that worked for Western Electric. He worked on many high tech defense system during World War II which required frequent relocation. Anna Lee learned to make friends very quickly and she demonstrated this trait for her entire life. While attending high school in Chicago, she worked part time in a defense factory assembling war planes. The family moved in the middle of her Sr. year back to Austin, Texas where she graduated from high school in May of 1946. While attending The University of Texas she married Joe A. Moss on May 30, 1947. Her mother, Ruth Hughey Reese was the match maker for this union. Mrs. Reese meet Joe at a mutual friends wedding and set out to get Anna Lee and Joe together. Anna Lee was very active in communities both in Big Spring, Texas and Dallas. Through the years she had numerous leadership positions with many charities and organizations. She was a very dedicated wife, sister, mother and grandmother. Anna Lee is survived by her husband of 67 years, Joe A. Moss of Dallas, one son Joe D. Moss and wife Judy of Lake Jackson, Tx. brother Dr. Curtis Reese and wife Nancy, Dallas, grandchildren Michelle Moss Winkler and husband Craig of Frisco, Shannon Moss Jordan and husband Kirk, Chicago, ILL., Sean Moss and wife Gina of Lake Jackson, and Brandi Moss Walker and husband Nathan, Lake Jackson, nephew Travis Reese and wife Elizabeth, niece Ashley Reese and 10 great grandchildren. There will be an open visitation on Thursday May 7, 2015 from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home and a private family graveside service on Friday May 8,2015 at Rose Hill Cemetery in Tyler, Texas. The family wishes to extend grateful appreciation to the loving and dedicated caregivers Flora and Jose Zarate, Pamela Pasillas, Kathy Kinnaman with Baylor Elder Care, VNA Hospice, and Highland Park Presbyterian Church. Their support and compassion have been invaluable to the family. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
