Anne Gallaway Stuart's Obituary
Anne Gallaway Stuart, 82, of Plano Texas died on October 9, 2024. Services will be held at All Saints Catholic Church, 5231 Meadowcreek Dr, Dallas TX on November 12, 2024, with a Rosary at 10:30 and Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Catholic Charities.
She was born in 1941 in Greenwich, CT to Edwin Gallaway and Theresa Rutledge Gallaway and lived in Huntington Station, Long Island, New York. Anne graduated with a BA in English and a Woman of the Year award from the University of Miami in 1963.
Anne was preceded in death by her parents Edwin and Theresa and her brother Robert. She is survived by her sister Jane Mick, her loving husband Jeffrey Stuart, her son Michael (and wife, Sarah), her daughter Kim Martinelli (and husband, Brent) and four wonderful grandchildren Amelia and Ross Stuart, Thomas and Gage Martinelli.
Anne worked as a corporate buyer for Milliken and Co. in NYC for ten years before marrying Jeff Stuart and moving to Hartford, CT. Though her children came first, Anne held positions as a part-time worker and office manager for many companies and was involved in the Mohawk Elementary PTA.
Since 1976 Anne and Jeff gave their Time, Talent and Treasure to All Saints Catholic Church. As Engaged Couple sponsors over 20 years they mentored many couples through the marriage prep process. She was in Ladies Auxiliary of the Knight of Columbus Council 13520 and honored as a Family of the Month and was a founding member of the All Saints Empty Nesters.
Anne and Jeff spent 20 years dancing with the Swinging Stars of Plano Square and Round Dance club and twice were Presidents and frequently played Bridge at the Richardson Senior Center. Anne twice co-hosted a successful Christmas Bazaar in her home in Richardson.
In her twenties, Anne traveled to many places in Europe. When Jeff accepted a loan assignment with Mobil Oil, with two toddlers they went to Dhahran, Saudi Arabia for five years. During that time they traveled around the world three times, made lifelong friends that they subsequently joined for many summer vacations in the USA.
Anne touched many lives, and her family and friends miss her dearly.
