Arvil Brewer was born December 24th, 1927 and walked the earth for ninety years until February 15th, 2018, when he went to be with our Lord and Savior.Arvil was born in Winnsboro Texas to Clifton Clyde Brewer and Gertrude Alameda Brewer, he was the middle child of five children. They scraped out a living farming during the Great Depression. As a young man of 16 years old Arvil falsified his age to enlist in the U.S. Navy during the Second World War. Arvil was a highly skilled welder and worked in several machine shops in the Garland area as well as setting up his own welding shop where he continued to manufacture parts long after he had officially retired.Arvil was a humble man, but he was proud of his family. Nothing made him happier than cooking big meals and having a house full of his grown children and his grandchildren, and eventually great-grandchildren. Although Arvil always lived a modest lifestyle he was always willing to help anyone in need and many young families owe him a debt of gratitude for helping hand he offered when they needed one.Arvil was a faithful member of Freeman Heights Baptist Church of Garland Texas for many years and was until very recently still active in the Senior program. It is because of this public declaration of faith and his subsequent demonstration of faith we are comforted in the knowledge of Arvil’s eternal salvation.Arvil was proceeded in death by his parents and his brothers and sisters and his daughters, Norma Nichols, and Pamela Burnside.
