Aubrey Don Poindexter's Obituary
Aubrey Don Poindexter, 79 passed away peacefully August 25, 2016 at his home in Greenville, Texas. He was born April 8, 1937 to Aubrey and Leon Poindexter. Don was raised and went to school in Rockwall. He played football and has loved the sport all his life. He also enjoyed hunting for years. He worked many years selling bricks for Brick Distributors Co. then worked a few years as a home inspector before retiring. After retirement he and Liz enjoyed traveling around the United States and Canada extensively. Don is survived by his wife, Elizabeth Poindexter and children of Nevada, Texas, Cindy Capella and husband, Billy, Mitch Poindexter and wife, Amy; Shannon Myers of Colorado; step-daughter, Barbara Draper of Greenville; 7 grandchildren, Cody Capella, Kacie King, Jamie Collins, Samatha Collendrina, Mitchell, Travis and Madison Myers and 9 great-grandchildren. Don is preceded in death by his parents, Aubrey, and Leon Poindexter; sister, Oleta Collum and step-daughter, Lynda Gwen Lokey. Don was loved by many and will be greatly missed. The service for Aubrey Poindexter will be held at 2:30 PM, Monday, August 29, 2016 in The Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home with a visitation 1 hour prior to the service. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
