Avanelle Skelton's Obituary
Avanelle was born in Trion, GA in 1931 and was raised in Rossville, GA. She married Gordon Skelton and had 3 children, Rex, Dorothy Diane, & Dan. They moved from Georgia to Dallas in 1957 where Avanelle started working at Texas Instruments as a lab technician for over 20 years while raising her family. After her children were grown, she left TI and started working for American Title Company as an abstractor until her retirement in 1997. Avanelle had a full life with her children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great-great grandchildren. She loved crafting of all kinds, her flower garden, and taking care of the birds in her yard which gave her an abundance of joy.
She is proceeded in death by her Mother & Father, Louis & Bessie Tyler, her brothers, Bill Tyler, Ed Tyler, and her sister Dorothy Tyler Hill, and grandson Austin Grant. She is survived by her sister Essie Schewe & husband Jim, her children, son Rex Skelton and wife Pat, daughter Dorothy Diane Davis and her husband Jerry, and son Dan Skelton and wife Elizabeth. Her grandchildren, Pam Bozio and husband Barry, Tony Grant and wife Holly, Carol Barton and husband Andy, Stephanie Roberts and husband John, Richard Skelton, Matthew Skelton, Adam Skelton and wife, and Joel Skelton, and 14 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren.
A public time of visitation will be held from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM on Thursday, April 24, 2025, at Restland Funeral Home, located at 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243.
Those wishing to send flowers may do so by contacting Rembrandt Florist by Restland at (972) 761-8989. Independent florists are kindly asked to deliver flowers directly to Restland Funeral Home by 9:00 AM on Thursday, April 24, 2025, to ensure proper and timely display for visitation.
A graveside service to honor the life of Avanelle will follow the same day, immediately after the time of visitation concludes, at 12:00 PM at Restland Memorial Park Cemetery in the Garden of Memories.
