Azzie Arnick Jr.'s Obituary
Azzie Arnick, Jr of Dallas, Texas transitioned on June 10, 2024. He was born November 5, 1931 to Azzie Arnick, Sr and Lula Mae Buchanan Arnick.
Azzie attended G.W. Carver High School in Karnack, Texas. Upon graduating Azzie relocated to Dallas, Texas to pursue a career in Cosmetology as a Licensed Barber. Azzie went on to attend, graduate and teach at Grahams Barber College for many years. Once his teaching days were behind him he went on to open his own barbershop where he worked tirelessly until his health began to decline . He had a fulfilling career that lasted well over 60 years. Arnick’s Barbershop was well known in Garland, Texas for his community outreach and for giving new barbers a chance to grow and learn under his tutelage. Azzie was also excited to serve on the Professional Barber and Stylist Committee a position he held for over 20 years.
Azzie eventually met and married the love of his life, Joyce O’Neal Arnick.
Azzie is preceded in death by his wife (Joyce), daughter (Gwenda) , his parents and several siblings.
Azzie leaves to cherish his memories …daughter Velma Lee Gibbs Houston, Texas, son Donnie Arnick Dallas, Texas, grandson Paul Gibbs (Marcia) Houston, Texas, great grandson Aaron Gibbs and great granddaughter Leia Gibbs both of Houston, Texas whom affectionately endowed him as “grand dolly”. A host of other family members, barber family, church family and Hamilton Park Neighbors whom too will cherish his memory.
May his memory be a blessing to everyone who knew him, and may he be happy in his next life once again with his beloved Joyce.
