Barbara Ann Bowers' Obituary
Barbara (Barb) A. Bowers, age 88, of Murphy, Texas, died peacefully Sunday March 14, 2021, at home surrounded by her family.
Barbara Ann, the daughter of Clarence and Neoma (Estes) Hicks, was born on November 15, 1932, in Hastings, Minnesota. Barb was united in marriage to John F. Bowers on September 15, 1951. Barb was employed at 3M Company for 15 years before her husbands job with Peavy Co transferred them to Dallas, TX. After their move to Texas, Barb was a long time employee at Transtronic and retired after 15 years. In her earlier years she enjoyed making porcelain dolls, ceramics, and any new crafting idea that came along she enjoyed it, but most of all she looked forward to her once a month trip to the casino courtesy of her two son-in-laws George, Lon and daughter Mary. Barb loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren and enjoyed their visits. Barb's true gift was helping and taking care of others, her service to others and her kind, giving, and loving spirit will forever be remembered and missed.
Barb is preceded in death by her parents, Clarence and Neoma (Estes) Hicks; husband John; siblings; Ramona, Florence, William, James, Clarence, Charles, Marvin, Judy, David and two infants, brother John and sister Mae.
She is survived by; son Terry (Mary) Zeien, daughters, Mary (George) White, Sheila (Lon) Milner; grandchildren; Deanna Seifert, Sarah Sharp, Jeff Zeien, Danny Zeien, Christy Vosika; step grandchildren; Teresa Akin, George (Rodney) White, Lona Patterson, Darrin Milner, and Tara Shatzer; 11 great grandchildren 11 great step grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; siblings, Richard Hicks, and Gerald Hicks and beloved family members; Kathy Karnick, Char Brown and Linda Churchill and many more;
Family will receive friends on Thursday March 25th, 2021, 2 hours prior to funeral service from 9:30am to 11:30am at the funeral home.
