Barbara LaRue Hart's Obituary
Barbara L. Hart, nee Beaty, was born on November 5, 1929 in Tulsa, Oklahoma. She married Richard T. Hart on December 22, 1949, and, sadly, died on April 4, 2018. She passed away peacefully, apparently not suffering from any pain in her last several weeks of life. She is survived by her husband Richard, her sons Steve and Jeff, daughter-in-law Michelle Hart, granddaughter Kayley Hart, nephew Jessie Beaty and niece Linda West.
Barbara ran the credit union at Geotech/Teledyne in Garland, Texas for at least 15 years. She was a candy striper, a volunteer, at Memorial Hospital in Garland for many years. She and her husband Richard were members of Southminster Presbyterian Church in Garland for some 50 years, from 1965 to about 2015. In recent years she and Richard became members of First Presbyterian Church in Garland.
Barbara loved animals, especially cats. Two of her most beloved cats were Smokey and Pepper. She also loved music and had a beautiful singing voice. She was a member of the church choir for many years. She learned to play the organ when she was more than 70 years old.
Above all, Barbara was a kind and gentle woman who loved her family unconditionally. She will be dearly missed by everyone who knew her.
In lieu of flowers, we ask that donations be sent in Barbara’s name to the Humane Society of the United States.
