Barbara Carolyn Wade's Obituary
Barbara Wood Wade, aged 89, passed away on June 19, 2015. She was born to the late Frederick Ridley Blanchette and Alice Bergin Blanchette on December 16, 1925. Barbara was born and spent most of her life in Beaumont, Texas. She graduated from Beaumont High School and attended Lamar College. She was a long-time member of the First Christian Church in Beaumont. Barbara was married for 36 years to the late Hugh Wood who died in 1983. She re-married in 1987 the late Jack Wade until his death in 2009. Barbara is survived by her daughter, Marcia Wood Beverly, and her son Clay Wood. Barbara enjoyed a long career and retired from Gulf States Utilities. She lived an active lifestyle as a leader in the Girl Scouts was active in the Sierra Club. was an accomplished musician, performing with the fiddle and mandolin in public performances with her second husband Jack Wade. Barbara’s family will be arranging a private service and she will be interred in the National Cemetery in Houston alongside Jack, a WWII Veteran of the U.S. Marine Corp. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75238 at Restland Road.
