Beverly Fern Walker's Obituary
WALKER, BEVERLY F. “Bev” Born March 29, 1923. Died November 19, 2007. Bev was born and raised in Thornton, TX. Upon graduation from Thornton High School in 1941, she enrolled in nursing school where she earned her R.N. license. Bev was a nurse in the U.S. Navy from 1944 to 1947 when she retired with the rank of LTJG. Bev was once asked “why did you join the Navy?” She replied “my friends said I would not make it and I was going to prove them wrong”. Bev entered private practice nursing after her retirement from the Navy. Bev was in private practice until 1951 when she left to marry the love of her life H.S. “Doc” Walker. Doc and Bev were married 55 years before his death in December 2006. Bev is survived by 3 wonderful children and their spouse’s all of whom she loved dearly. Daughter and son-in-law Priscilla and Les Darlington, Son and daughter-in-law Larry Walker and Martha Black, Son and daughter-in-law Michael L. and Amy Walker. Bev is also survived by Sister-in-law Jeanne Ballard and her husband John. Visitation Fri.11-23-07 from 6:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. Services Sat.11-24-07 10:00 A.M. at Wildwood Chapel Restland Memorial Park, Dallas. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Motorcops for Kids c/o Jerry Patterson at Dallas Harley Davidson, 1334 Centerville Rd., Garland, TX 75041 OR to The Salvation Army OR to the charity of your choice.
