Billie Jean Leonard's Obituary
Billie Jean Leonard. Age 82, passed away on Friday June 26, 2015. Billie Jean was the daughter of Everett Boyd Odom and Mamie Opal Odom. Billie Jean married James Frank Leonard on September 14th, 1956 in Dallas, Texas. James Frank Leonard passed away in 2006. They were active members at the Dallas Elks # 71 Lodge for many years. She met her very close friend Suzie Lane there and they started going to lunch and shopping every Tuesday after her hair appointment. She also met her every Thursday playing bingo at the lodge. Her favorite place to get away was to her lake-house in East Texas with her boyfriend Fred Chance. She met him when they were 13 years old. They were neighbors for many years. Billie Jean re-connected with Fred 6 months after his wife passed away, and they started dating. Steve Leonard was her only son and his wife Stacey Leonard. Miranda Leonard was her only granddaughter. She lived with us for almost 4 years in a mother suite. She was always telling everyone how blessed she was to have a daughter in law that would accept her and she considered her a daughter that she never had. She was very grateful Steve and his wife Stacey took her in 5 years after her husband James Frank passed away. Billie Jean had a very kind spirit and the sweetest soul, she always put others needs before her own. Billie Jean touched many lives and everybody always commented they felt blessed to know her. Billie Jean will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. God has gained a very precious Angel. Funeral service will be held at 12:30 PM Wednesday, July 1, 2015 at The Wildwood Chapel. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
