Billy "Bill" Jack Maxey's Obituary
Billy Jack Maxey was born November 23, 1929 in New Albany, MS and passed away September 4, 2016 in Malakoff, TX. Bill served his country in the U.S, Navy from 1953 to 1955 during which time he met and married Lela. They remained married until her passing in 2011. Bill moved his family to Texas from Mississippi in 1958. Bill began his career at Laminack Tire in Garland, TX in 1963 until 2007. Bill and Lela moved to Malakoff, Texas in 1984 where he enjoyed working in the yard and fellowship with his church members. He was a deacon of Sinners Hope Baptist Church. Bill leaves behind to cherish his memory his children: Debbie & her husband Steve Roberts of Hutchins, TX, Renee & her husband Billy Watkins of Sachse, TX, and Larry and his wife Sandra Maxey of Rowlett, TX.; Grandchildren: Brian Canady, Brandon Canady, Jay L. Holloway, Marci Edwards, Bobby Hobbs, Cody W. Maxey and Wesley K. Maxey; and many Great Grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his son Gary W. Maxey. The family will receive friends between the hours of 5:00 and 7:00 pm on Wednesday, September 7, 2016 at Restland Funeral Home located at 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243 in Staterooms N-O. Service will be at 3:00 pm, Thursday, September 8, 2016 at Restland Memorial Park in the Wildwood Chapel. Rev. Dale Norris of Faith Community Baptist Church, Mabank, TX will officiate. Following the service, there will be a short procession to the Garden of Trinity located at Restland Memorial Park. Blake Canady, Brandon Canady, Brian Canady, Bruce Cash, Bobby Hobbs, and Cody Maxey will serve as pallbearers. Arrangements are under the care of Restland Funeral Home.
