For my beloved father in law, I thank you for welcoming me into your family with open arms, your shy smile and little wink. I treasure the times we shared watching TV, your favorite pass time. I will miss reminding David to go by and get your tiny McDonald cheeseburgers you loved so much. I will forever miss you but know that one day we will see each other again, where you are with Mrs Laird, in our Heavenly home. I love you, Deana

I never met Mr. Laird, but I know he was a wonderful man from talking about him with my son in law David Laird, I am very sorry for you loss and will be praying for the whole family for peace and comfort at this time. I know your dad is in Heaven and I sincerely hope and pray he has met my husband Buddy Hope. I know they will have a good time fishing as they both really loved to fish. Peace be with you.
My most fond memories of Dad are when I was about 9 or 10 years old he taught me how to "Go Fishing." I remember many Camping trips to "State parks" and area Lakes. Sometimes a trip to a" Local Creek" would be just fine.It was always important to bring "Cheese& Crackers." I must say that I didn't really care for the "Stink Bait." though it caught lot of "Catfish." Before the expansion of the DFW area we would go on camping trips Especially Lake Dallas ("Garza Little Elm.") for the old school. A big storm blew up out of no where one weekend and the high winds brought the tent down and flooded it. Dad & Mom quickly got us up from bed and had us get into the car. Lucky for us our Grandparents lived nearby in the Town of Corinth (a suburb of Denton)so we were able to spend the night there.
