Bobby (Bob) Gene Parker's Obituary
Bobby (Bob) Gene Parker, 91, passed away November 8, 2020 from Covid 19. He was born in Crawford County, Arkansas on December 16, 1928 to the late William McKinley and Geneva Anglen Parker.
Bob moved to Texas at age five and graduated from Palestine High School in 1945. He attended Texas A&M College joining the Corp for one year before returning home to help care for his recently widowed mother in Dallas. He began his career at Dallas Power and Light in 1948 where he met his wife, Jerrye. They were married on February 10, 1950 at the First Baptist Church in Dallas.
He graduated from SMU with a degree in Accounting eventually becoming a Division Head at Dallas Power and Light where he worked for 36 years before retiring in 1984.
Bob and Jerrye were founding members of the Pleasant Oaks Rock and Mineral club and charterJill members of the Ramblin Sams, the first Good Sam RV club in Texas. They were avid rock hounds, loved RVing and travelling the entire U.S. as well as overseas.
Bob was preceded in death by his wife of 70 years, Jerrye Parker. Survivors include his daughter Debbie Kitchens of Lucas, Texas, Grandson Curtis Kitchens, his wife Janeal, grandson Kevin Kitchens and his ex-wife Jennifer. He is also survived by great-granddaughter Ashton age 17, great-grandson Jackson age 14 and many nieces and nephews.
Due to the current situation there will be a private burial for immediate family members. A memorial service will be held at 2PM Saturday, June 19, at Wildwood Chapel.
