Bobby Louis Schmidt's Obituary
Bobby Louis Schmidt, 87, of Richardson, Texas, was born to L. P. “Fritz” and Ester Schmidt on November 4, 1936, in Mason, Texas. He passed away on June 15, 2024, in Dallas, Texas.
Bobby served his country for four years in the United States Air Force and was a Staff Sergeant at the conclusion of his service.
Professionally, he enjoyed a career spanning forty years with Texas Instruments in Dallas.
Bobby was a licensed amateur “ham” radio operator, a member of the Venture Sailing Club and loved to travel.
He is preceded in death by his wife, Janelle Schmidt, and his parents.
Bobby is loved and remembered by: his four children - Steven Schmidt, Katherine Godwin, Janice Picard and Dennis Schmidt; his six grandchildren - Shannon Schmidt, Shane Schmidt, Janine Davis, Graham Godwin, Hayden Picard and Brooke Picard; and his four great-grandchildren – Ari Rose Chern, Dean Schmidt, Rylan Davis and Rylie Davis.
A funeral service took place at 11:00AM on Friday, June 21, 2024, in the Sanctuary of Messiah Lutheran Church of Plano, Texas, where the family received friends one hour prior. Interment with military honors followed at Restland Memorial Park.
