Catalino Pajo's Obituary
Pajo, Catalino "Lyn" Antonio Caseñas
It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Catalino Antonio Caseñas Pajo on June 11, 2024, at the age of 87.
Catalino “Lyn” Antonio Caseñas Pajo peacefully departed surrounded by his family at his home in Richardson, Texas, after a courageous two-year battle with prostate cancer. He showed remarkable strength for seventeen days following the loss of his beloved wife, Lita Pajo. He is survived by his two daughters and spouses, Lourdes Pajo Pless (Michael), Lore Pajo Dickie (William, Sr); three grandchildren to whom he was affectionately known as “Papa”, Maricela Dickie Brooks (Nicholas), Marissa Dickie and William Dickie, Jr. Lyn is also survived by his siblings Lourdes Salas, Fernando Pajo, Sr (Darlene), Thonia Chua and Benny Pajo. He also leaves behind many cousins, nieces and nephews whom he cared deeply.
Lyn was born to Fernando Namoc Pajo and Maria Caseñas Pajo on March 22, 1937, in Jagna, Bohol in the Philippines. He attended Jagna Elementary School and Central Visayas College before meeting Lita during her family's relocation to Jagna following a volcanic eruption. Their paths crossed again at the University of San Carlos in Cebu City, where he earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting in 1959. After graduating, he worked for Merchant Ocean Liner and traveled the world with port-of-calls in China, Japan, Taiwan, Korea, Canada (Toronto, Montreal, Vancouver) and the United States by way of the Panama Canal (San Francisco, Seattle, Tacoma, Longview). During dry dock, he asked Lita on a date, and the rest was history! Lita and Lyn were married October 25, 1964, and later immigrated to the United States in 1967, settling initially in Tyler, Texas with two suitcases and $200 in their pocket. They later moved to the Dallas area to raise their children.
Lyn was a hardworking man who held multiple positions in the banking industry. Despite his full-time job, he possessed an unwavering entrepreneurial spirit and took pleasure in launching several side businesses. He started with Sleeper Beeper, followed by a booth at Vikon Village, and then established Pajo Mattress Center in 1985. Lyn continued to operate his store after retiring until 2005. During this time, he also provided tax services for family and friends. Lyn was a member of St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church in Plano and regularly attended Mass there with Lita. During his retirement, Lyn cherished traveling with his wife, family, and friends, attending his grandchildren’s events and activities, visiting casinos, and indulging in swimming. His greatest joy was walking on the beach, spending hours in the ocean, building drip sand castles, and having sand ball ‘fights’ (a Filipino game) with his grandchildren. Lyn was a passionate sports enthusiast, just happy to watch his favorite teams, the Dallas Cowboys, the Dallas Mavericks, the Texas Rangers, as well as tennis and boxing. He also loved listening to his favorite 'Oldies but Goodies' hits, often singing, dancing and enjoying karaoke with everyone. Lyn always kept busy; part of his daily routine included making his morning rounds to his banks for coffee and snacks, savoring some great Filipino cuisine, and playing solitaire.
Lyn was a dedicated family man, always pleased to gather with his wife, daughters and their families. His legacy lives on with unforgettable memories, playing cards and telling jokes that only he could tell. His infectious laughter and charming smile brightened every moment.
Lyn is now at peace, reunited with his beloved Lita in the presence of the Lord our Father. Though a man of few words, his generous spirit spoke volumes; we are profoundly grateful for that and will all miss him dearly.
Lyn was preceded in death by Parents: Fernando Namoc Pajo and Maria Caseñas Pajo, Brother and Sister-in-Law: Pedro Pajo, Anita Pajo, Brother-in-Law: Bernardo Salas, Franco Chua, Nephews: Fernando Pajo III, Arnold Pajo.
A Memorial Mass will be held at St. Mark the Evangelist Catholic Church at 10am on July 11, 2024, followed by a private Inurnment with wife, Lita at St. Mark the Evangelist Columbarium.
