Catherine W. Parlin's Obituary
Parlin, Catherine W. Of Rowlett, TX passed away peacefully on October 13, 2009. Catherine (Kay) was born in Westbrook, Maine September 05, 1924, the daughter of Leland and Eleanor Wentworth. Catherine married Robert F. Parlin Jr. who died in 1984. She later married J. Ronald Murdock in 1997 who died in 2000. She was a graduate of Westbrook High School and attended the University of Maryland. Catherine was employed for many years with the U.S. Department of Defense and worked several years for E-Systems in Garland, TX. Catherine worked throughout the United States and in Australia, where her late husband Robert F. Parlin Jr. was employed by the U.S. Government. In later years, Catherine worked part time in the Counseling Division at Richland College in Texas where she also earned an Associates Degree in Arts and Sciences, May 1988. Catherine was a member of the National Grange and a past Worthy Advisor of Rainbow Girls in Westbrook, Maine. As a Shrine Lady, with Bektash Shrine, NH, she and her second husband were active in many Shrine events throughout the United States. Catherine was a volunteer worker for many years which included the Elliot Hospital in Manchester, NH and Mastricola Elementary School in Merrimack, NH. Catherine leaves a daughter, Judith Ingerowski (husband John), Derry, NH; two sons, Robert G. Parlin (wife Sandra), Rowlett, TX and Jonathan L. Parlin, Mesquite, TX; a granddaughter, Janet Henry (husband Steve), Auburn, NH; two great-grandsons, Evan and Colby Johnson, Auburn, NH; two sisters, Shirley Ward, Brooksville, FL and Gloria Eastman, South Portland, ME plus several nieces and nephews. Visitation with the family will be held on Friday, October 16, 2009 from 6:00 pm til 8:00 pm at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. Memorial contributions may be made to the Dallas Chapter of the American Heart Association, 8200 Brookriver Drive, Suite N-100, Dallas, TX 75247.
