Charles "Aubrey" Black's Obituary
Charles Aubrey Black, of Denton, passed away on Friday, October 13th, 2023, in Denton, TX. He was 79 years old.
Aubrey was born August 18th, 1944, in Chicota, TX to Charles and Ruby Black. On June 2, 1979, Aubrey married Connie Brown in Garland, TX. Aubrey had a lifelong love of trucks and in his mind, nothing beat a Peterbilt. He was a long-haul driver throughout the continental 48 states as well as Canada and for a time was the proud owner and operator of a refrigerated trucking line. He never met a stranger and seemed to coax the life story out of everyone he met. He loved watching football. He would watch college ball so that he knew all about the players as they made it to the pros. He loved the Cowboys, but he loved attending his son’s high school football games even more.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Ruby Black, and his brother, Roger Black.
Aubrey is survived by his wife Connie Black of Denton; daughter Tonnie Brown and husband Dave of Denton; son Anthony Black and wife Hannah of Sanger; grandchildren Zoe Brown, Mason Brown, Parker Brown, and Titus Black; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Interment will be Thursday, 11:00 am, at Restland Cemetery in Dallas, TX. A memorial celebration will be held Friday at 10:00 at Good Samaritan Society Chapel, 2500 Hinkle Drive.
