Charles Bryson Douglas' Obituary
Charles (Chuck) Bryson Douglas, 91, died Thursday, March 16, 2017 at home surrounded by his family. He leaves his wife of 61 years, Roselyn Douglas, his son, Stephen Bryson Douglas; his daughters, Diane Lindsey and Stephanie Douglas-Parkin and her husband, Andrew, and grandchildren, David Charles Lindsey, Tanner Bryson Douglas and Lauren Elizabeth Douglas. Chuck was born to Hazel and John Douglas in Wichita Kansas, on February 21, 1926. At 17, Chuck enlisted in the Navy and served in South Pacific during WWII. Upon his return, he attended and graduated from Wichita State University and continued his post graduate studies at Thunderbird School of Global Management. Chuck had a successful career, spanning 40 years, starting in Sales and proceeding to Senior Management, both in the U.S. and internationally. He served as Vice President of Marketing for Borg-Warner Plumbing Division in Ohio, Vice President of Marketing and later President of U.S. Brass, ultimately retiring as President for Thorsen Tool Company. Throughout his career, he and his wife Roselyn traveled extensively, including an assignment in Russia overseeing commerce in the post-Communist transition. But his real passion was his family and he enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. Visitation will be held at the Spring Valley United Methodist Church on Thursday, March 23rd at 10:30 AM, followed immediately at 11:00 AM with funeral services. Burial will be at Restland after services. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Wounded Warrior Project or the Salvation Army.
