Charletta W. Greene's Obituary
Charletta W. Greene, 87 years old of Dallas, Texas passed away on July 26, 2019. She was born March 22, 1932 in Dallas. She was preceded in death by her husband Retired Chief MSgt Daniel W. Greene, her father, Edgar Wayne Good and her mother, Etta Mae (nee Verschoyle). She is survived by son, John Wayne Greene and daughter, Jennie Marie Gorrnan,her husband, Glenn Gorman and grandchildren, Nathan, Elizabeth & Michael Gorman.What a woman! She was a career military wife, a teacher, a student, an historian, artist and adventurer. She took Girl Scouts rafting down the Colorado River and sat down with Margaret Thatcher at a luncheon. She taught hundreds of kids to swim and Navy SEALS water rescue.She was a devoted wife and mother. She married Dan on July 22, 1952 and supported him through a twenty-three year honored Navy & Air Force career. She was proud of her magician son, John,. whom she always reminded “you’re the best’, and loved her daughter Jennie, son-in-law Glenn and her grandchilden.Her pioneer spirit gave her a passion for Daughters of the American Revolution and she was honored to be regent for Titus Travis chapter six times and proud to be a member of the James Billingsley chapter..She loved, well, everything – her garden, the birds, outside, inside, starlight, candlelight, fireworks and really good movies (esp. Casablanca, see it to honor her. ..really).She touched many lives and will be greatly missed.A memorial celebrating Charletta’s life will be held August 5, 2019 at 2:30pm at Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243.
