Charlotte Adell Jones' Obituary
Charlotte Adell Jones was born on September 22, 1949, in Compton, California to Arthur Jones and Shirley Akers Jones. She passed into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on August 14, 2023.
She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ernest and Odessa Johnson Thornton, and her parents, Shirley Akers Caldwell and Arthur Jones.
Charlotte grew up in Duson, LA, and attended Paul Breaux High School in Lafayette. After graduation, she attended the University of Southern Louisiana at Lafayette, and then relocated to Port Arthur, Texas, where she worked as a Lead Analytical Technician for Gulf Oil Refinery for seventeen (17) years. She retired to Garland, TX to be near her daughter and grandchildren. She enjoyed reading, cooking, the arts, and spending time with family.
She is survived by her daughter, Alana Jones Wooten, and her four grandchildren, Gavin Wooten, Leslie Wooten, Maxwell Wooten and Daphne Wooten of Garland, TX; Her sister and two brothers, Barbara Jones of Duson, LA, and Lance Caldwell and Jimmy White, Jr. of Los Angeles, CA; Her niece and two nephews, Aleshia Gumbs Bernard, Emmanuel Gumbs and Gayland Gumbs; Her best friend of over sixty years, Mrs. Janelle William Edwards, and a host of other family and friends in Port Arthur, Texas and Lafayette, Louisiana.
Charlotte was raised in a Christian home. She believed that she was saved by grace and had a deep faith in our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Because of her faith, we know that she is at home and at peace.
