Cherri Mulcay Frank's Obituary
Cherri Alice (Mulcay) Frank, Dallas, Texas passed away December 31, 2017 at her home. She was born in Prophetstown, Illinois on September 16, 1942 alongside her twin sister, Terri Swanson. Marion and Alice Mulcay raised their daughters in Aurora, Illinois.Cherri lived a blessed life with her husband, Dr. Robert J. Frank. Together they lived, laughed and loved life. Prior to meeting Bob, Cherri enjoyed life in Aurora, Illinois. During her teenage years, she was a member of the International Order of Job’s Daughters serving as the Honored Queen in 1958. She graduated in the top of her class and served as associate editor of the high school paper.Bob swept her off her feet to Dallas, Texas where she supported him during medical school by working as a Dental Hygienist. While Bob built a medical practice, together they built a family with their children Thomas, Matthew, and Marlesse. When Cherri wasn’t chauffeuring the kids to sports practices, she was enjoying tennis matches with her friends. After the kids were grown, she joined Bob’s ENT practice as the office manager. Bob and Cherri traveled the world with her favorite trips including family cruises to Hawaii or going on an African safari trip with Bob. Following Bob’s retirement and death, she continued to manage the ENT practice now lead by her son, Dr. Thomas Frank. In her spare time, she enjoyed tap dancing, book club and knitting with the gals at Yarn & Stitches.Cherri was preceded in death by her parents, Marion and Alice Mulcay; her son, Matthew; and her husband, Robert.She is survived by her son, Thomas and wife, Wendi (Plano, Texas); her daughter, Marlesse and husband, Jacob (Springfield, Missouri); adopted-grandson Alexander Frank (Dallas, Texas); her daughter-in-law, JaNeen-Marie and husband, Ryan Riley (Ft. Worth, Texas); and grandchildren: Brandon Frank and wife, Katelyn (Garland, Texas); and Bryson Frank (Plano, Texas); and great-grandchildren Landon and Matthew Frank (Garland, Texas); and twin sister, Terri Swanson (Centennial, Colorado).A memorial service will be held at 2:30pm at the Memorial Chapel, Restland Memorial Park, Dallas, Texas on Thursday, January 4, 2017 with Pastor Dr. Charles Hebert of Prestonwood Baptist Church officiating.In lieu of flowers, please honor Cherri with a donation to Kyle’s Place or the Matthew Gregory Frank Cardiology Fellows foundation award.UT Southwestern Medical CenterCardiology Fellows Award Fund in Memory of Matthew Gregory FrankOffice of Development & Alumni RelationsP.O.
