Mrs. Christina G. Zarras' Obituary
Christina Zarras, beloved Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, and friend to many passed away peacefully on December 25, 2023, at the age of 91. She was known to everyone as Yiayia.
She was born on July 18, 1932, in Elatou, Greece to Leonidas and Aphrodite Panagiotopoulos.
Christina was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, George Zarras.
They met on her journey to America in 1951. They created a beautiful family, and her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren were her pride and joy. Her commitment and love for her family was immeasurable.
Christina was wonderfully devoted to her son and daughter in law, Panteli and Stacey, and her daughter and son in law, Eleni and Nick.
She was a loving grandmother to John and Jenny, Eleftherios and Christina, Leeo and Aphrodite, Corey and Lydia, and Alexander and Reagan. She was a warmhearted great grandmother to Evangelos, Nicole, Kostadena, Jacob, Evangelia, Nicoletta, and Panteli.
She also leaves many other family members and friends who will sadly miss her greatly.
She was a strong woman of faith and a member of Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church. She enjoyed volunteering at church and attending services. She loved gardening and cooking for her loved ones. She inspired and guided countless people throughout her life. Most of all, she treasured spending time with her children, grandchildren, and especially her great grandchildren.
