Clair Oscar "C. O." Gaulden, Jr.'s Obituary
Beloved husband, devoted father, cherished grandfather and brother, Clair Oscar Gaulden, Jr., age 88, passed away in Garland, Texas on Tuesday, April 5, 2016 surrounded by his family. C. O. was born in Wylie, Texas on October 6, 1927 to Clair Oscar Gaulden, Sr. and Ethel Susan (Taylor) Gaulden. On June 29, 1951, he married the love of his life, Maggie Lee Martin and they celebrated almost 60 years of love. Together they raised two sons, who were the highlight of their life together. Maggie Lee Gaulden preceded him in death on June 18, 2011. He is also preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Troy, John and Truett Gaulden; his grandson, Billy Charles Mitchell, Jr.; his brother-in-law, Pete Seals; his sister-in-law, Itasca Holley and brother-in-law, Ed Holley; and his niece, Dana Bolton. C. O. is survived by his sons, Gary Gaulden and his wife, Donna and Richard Gaulden and his wife, Melinda; his grandchildren, Keelan Gaulden, Susan Ybarra and husband, Art, Sara Thompson and husband, Jeff, and Charlie Mitchell; his great-grandchildren, A. J. and Aubrey Ybarra and Lexi Mitchell; his sister, Dorothy Seals; his sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and Joe Corley and numerous nieces, nephews and other family members. C. O. retired from Kraft Foods after 35 years of employment. He was a member of South Garland Baptist Church for many years. C. O.’s was a life well lived and he was well loved by all who knew him. He will be deeply missed. Visitation will be held at Memorial Chapel, Restland Funeral Home, Dallas, Texas on Thursday, April 7, 2016 from 6-8pm. Funeral Service will be held at Memorial Chapel, Restland Funeral Home on Friday, April 8, 2016 at 10:00am with Bro. Larry Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Restland Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Gary Gaulden, Richard Gaulden, Keelan Gaulden, Art Ybarra, A. J. Ybarra, Joe Corley, Jeff Thompson and Tracy Jackson. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243. The family requests in lieu of flowers, memorials be made in C.
