Colen K. Watson's Obituary
Colen Kelly Watson, age 81, passed away on April 6th, 2024, in Garland, Texas. Born in Caryville, Florida on November 19th, 1942, to Bonnie Yates-Watson and Robert Lee Watson. Colen has left behind his lifelong partner, Clarice Stephens of Hopkinsville Kentucky whom he cherished and loved dearly. He was the only male sibling of five and is survived by his sister Gladys McCabe of Elba Florida. He was proceeded in death by his father, mother and sisters Myrtle, Dorothy and Elizabeth. As a loving and devoted father, Colen Sr. was proceeded in death by his first-born son Colen Watson Junior of Pensacola Florida. He is survived by daughters Rebecca Bowlden of Garland Texas and Rachel Geary of Bernalillo New Mexico, sons John Joseph “Jack” and John Thomas “Tom” Maceiunas originally from El Paso TX. Colen was a grandfather of seven: Aaron Maceiunas, Christopher Bowlden, Isacc Maceiunas, Alexandria Bowlden, Jordan Geary, Sebastian Bowlden & Amber Stone who lovingly gifted him fourteen Great Grandchildren to carry on his legacy.
As a young man, the US Army was Colen’s original career path and after successfully completing his service, his civilian career transitioned to management of various food industry related positions up to the point of his retirement. Passionate about everything he did, Colen was a sharpshooter in the military and in his free time he enjoyed hunting, target shooting and fishing, all of which were lifelong hobbies. He created many memories for family & friends when traveling abroad, playing musical instruments and entertaining others.
Colen K. Watson departed unexpectedly and far too soon for all those who knew and loved him. Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, TX will host the Memorial Services at 2:00 P.M. Friday, April 19th, 2024, for all those wishing to attend.
